Episode 54: Alexia Tuscan Style Grilled Steak Panini

I must admit, this “panini” phase is starting to really get old. Everywhere you go to eat these days for lunch seems to be equipped with a panini press. Yeah, yeah, yeah, panini: its reallly just a fancy word for melt but people are afraid it makes it seem less “cafe” and more “diner”. The Paninimania has also hit the frozen food aisle to mixed results. It’s sort of tough to get a crispy bread and a soft center when you are nuking it from a frozen brick state for a couple of minutes. I had my doubts but the Alexia Tuscan Style Grilled Steak Panini has opened my eyes for what is possible with a simple crisping tray and a couple of minutes in the microwave.
